Orbs
Each orbs structure is shaped and welded locally in our Vancouver studio. As they are made by hand, no two pieces are exactly the same, giving each of them a unique personality. They require very little material, making them light on the environment as well as in your hands. The colorful diffusers are also our creations. We weave thin copper wire with a technique that we developed and that is truly unique. Who doesn’t like being unique? Our orbs certainly enjoy it!
Sci-fi
We got thinking a lot about the future recently and what it was holding for humanity. When younger the future had this rosy look, full of possibilities. Trips to the moon, friendly (or not) aliens, a life of leisure where work would be accomplish by robots. Sure enough, we are now in that future and it looks nothing like this! War, climate change, we are overworked and stressed.
So this is a clin d'oeil at what our future was supposed to look like when we were all innocents.
Designing cactus when you live in a rainforest seems like not facing up to reality! What can we say, we are just enamoured with the graphical appearance of cacti shapes. We sometimes would also enjoy spending some time in a warmer and dryer place.
